ED-L20mm, ED-L30mm, ED-L40mmEddy Current Flaw Detectors
The ED-L20mm, ED-L30mm and ED-L40mm are wireless eddy current flaw detectors with large-coverage differential sensing elements for rapid inspection of large-area products. The three versions provide different combinations of defect sensitivity, inspection width, inspection through coatings and scanning speed, allowing the detector to be selected according to the size of the inspected surface and the expected defect dimensions.
Description
The ED-L series is designed for rapid eddy current inspection of large-area products and structures where efficient surface coverage is more important than highly localized inspection. Large differential sensing elements enable detection and depth measurement of extended surface-breaking defects while allowing significantly higher scanning speeds than smaller ED-series models.
The series includes three versions with 20, 30 and 40 mm sensing elements. Increasing the sensing-element size increases the area of influence, permissible coating thickness and maximum scanning speed, while reducing sensitivity to the smallest defects. This allows the operator to select the optimum balance between defect sensitivity and inspection productivity.
ED-L20mm provides the highest defect sensitivity within the L-series and is suitable when relatively small defects must still be detected during large-area inspection. It measures defect depths from 0.5 to 5 mm and detects defects through dielectric coatings up to 4 mm thick.
ED-L30mm provides a balanced combination of coverage, defect-depth capability and scanning speed. It measures defects from 0.5 to 10 mm deep, operates on rough surfaces up to Rz 640 µm and allows defect detection through coatings up to 6 mm thick.
ED-L40mm provides the widest inspection area and the highest scanning speed of the series. It is intended for rapid inspection of very large surfaces and extended defects, with a defect depth measurement range of 0.5–10 mm and defect detection through dielectric coatings up to 8 mm thick.
