The Corona 40 is a portable pulsed high-voltage holiday detector for detecting pinholes, pores, cracks, leaks and other discontinuities in thick protective dielectric coatings, linings and membranes. It is designed for testing coatings from 0.5 to 25 mm thick.
Description
The Corona 40 is a portable high-voltage holiday detector designed for non-destructive inspection of protective dielectric coatings, linings and membranes. It is used to detect coating discontinuities such as pinholes, pores, cracks, leaks, tears and other defects that may expose the substrate and reduce corrosion protection.
The device provides an adjustable test voltage from 4 to 40 kV and is suitable for coatings from 0.5 to 25 mm thick. Interchangeable electrodes allow inspection of pipelines, tanks, vessels, metal structures and other coated equipment with flat, cylindrical or complex-shaped surfaces.
The pulsed high-voltage test method provides reliable defect detection while reducing the risk of excessive thermal impact on the coating. The Corona 40 is suitable for production inspection, installation control and in-service testing of protective coating systems.

– The device has a digital interface containing:
1. test voltage calculator, which allows to calculate the test voltage based on the known thickness of the tested coating;
2. user calibration mode, which allows to correct the device calibration by the user during the entire device lifetime if the appropriate measuring equipment is available;
3. single-electrode testing mode, allowing to detect through coating defects without a connected earthing wire;
4. defect counter;
– Operating temperature range: from minus 40 °C to plus 50 °C;
– The weight of the control unit does not exceed 0.65 kg;
– Autonomous operation time (up to 20 h at a test voltage of 40 kV using a fan electrode).
